Newbie

Hi all, I'm a total newbie to wood burning stoves, so I started digging online and found this forum. I could sure use some advice. I'm purchasing a property that has two Fisher wood stoves, one in the house and one in the detached garage/workshop. I'll have pictures to post shortly, but I believe they are the Grandpa or Grandma models (the Grandpa, I think, based on the size). They appear to be in good shape -- clean and well maintained, that is. I really have no interest in keeping them in the house and garage. The house has a furnace, and it just doesn't get cold enough here in coastal Virginia to really need supplemental heat. Is there anything special I should do to them before selling or storing them? I have a storage unit where I could put them if needed. It's not climate controlled, but it's dry. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

They are pretty much indestructible, just don't store them outside.
Some cold winter day during a Nor'easter, when you loose power you may be glad to know how to operate the one in the house to cook and keep warm. I would not be without a back up source.
