It's been about 24 hours running with the Oak...Too early to tell any difference except stove is purring......very strong draw outside on the OAK! So my adjustable auger cover plate that I was supposed to have, doesn't exist, so the heck with my dealer I made my own. Simple, I took a piece of .24 aluminum, couple of bends, screwed on to cover about 1/2 of the exposed opening. So far, running on feed 2, will try feed 1 later. I DO have pics of my homemade auger cover plate and painted vent. I am on the road to SE MA. With my iPhone and iPad, I hopefully will send them off on Sat/Sun. No pis of the OAK but it's just about 14" of insulated 4" duct. Something new I am trying for auger grease, PB Blaster, magnetic spray lube......and just as I am typing, I heard a squeak.......Bill

Yeah yeah..like it didn't happen....I will post as soon as I get a chance. No hi-temp fail yet but it's early. Bill

Why won't your dealer cough one up. Its not costing him a nickle, Except the labor. Which should have been recouped in the stove sale.

Call the costumer service number and They might make a call to the dealer for you..... Don't take any crap with the dealer, You pasyed good money and it should be made right. Its a known issue. Tell him you blower s making noise too.

High temp fail......yet! I am having a problem with Photo bucket and my pics...hope to resolve soon. Bill

*€%>*€% where the heck did my note go????? Oh well, the gist of it is, the dealer will get the cover, but since the stove was out and open, I just made one myself. It seems to work...feed 2, fan 3, premium VT pellets, premium setting, huge flame and no high temp tripping....yet. Having a problem with my Photobucket account, sending pics...hope to fix soon, Bill

So here are the pics...if I didn't screw up...Bill

Oh yeah! 18 out 71 in and it's only been on for 2 hours. The stove does sound smoother running, honestly! The only change I think I might need is too adjust the combustion trim down a notch. Bill

Any more details about the OAK. Where did you get the vent? Did you go out of the firebox area or above? I have an insert and am thinking of doing an OAK. I just want to get some details from others before I drill through my chimney. :bug:

Thanks
Chris
