My US Stove log model, thats what I call it. Its the long rectangle old looking one. My STT is usually 350 to 400, but my Imperial gauge says 300, ALL the time. Is 350 to 400 good?

Seems low unless you’re just burning a stick or two at a time. What kind of flue temps are you seeing?

My gauge is basically 18 inches up the pipe, and its always on 300.....I bought an IR gun to confirm, and its right. I clean my flue every month, just to be safe. I get fluffy black soot, but thats it. Someone on here said a reading of 300 means 600 flue temps. I burn pine, cabinet grade, and it should be hotter.

Ok that does sound low but shouldn’t be low enough to cause creosote problems. Is this the US Stove that has the set air rate or is it adjustable?

The temp is fine on the pipe. But the fact that your stove top is about the same as your pipe temp shows how inefficient your stove is

Its the one that you cant control anything. I crack the door to get air if it needs it. I put 6 pieces of pine in, and the gauge went down a little, lol.
