[Hearth.com] norway maple? Small score from my buddies house already cut to length.never saw or dealt with maple with this kind of bark, very broad maple leaves compared to sugar maple.I believe it is norway maple??

Do you have any leaves? Or leaf pics?
I have Norways but I have Crimson Kings.
The bark is super thin on them and they get sun scald easy. On the upper limbs the bark is completely smooth. The bark in your photos is rather thick for Norway.
But it could be another variety.

i dont have a leave pic,but i looked at them and if u held it by stem leaf tips up it was very wide/broad

Hate to say it but it looks a little like Basswood or aka Linden wood. I believe its in the soft maple family.

Leaves are definately maple shaped definately not basswood leave

That looks like Norway Maple to me

It's some kind of maple. It's not silver so you've got decent firewood there after seasoning it.
