Of course: Our Regency L1200S' liner is 5 1/2 inch not 6...

OK, you might know the issues that we had with our Alpine Energy in South River, NJ regarding service after the sale https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/39897/
But even odder? The Hot Box chimney sweep just left https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/40043/ and I was informed that the liner used in our install is 5 1/2 inch - not the specified 6 inch.

The sweep, Reece, called Regency (fun finding their phone number) and they said that it is fine.

So, it is fine...just very odd.

I didn't look at your links, but it's pretty common for installers to use a 5.5" liner. It often makes the job a lot easier for them to get the liner in.

Wet1, thanks for the reply. I was told that 6 is actually required in Canada. My sweep also said it was the first time in years that he'd seen one at 5.5 (non-gas of course).

THX again.

I lined both of mine with 5.5" and they draft great.
