The original installer put the stove pipe in backwards (the upper pipe was placed over top of the lower pipe)... Additionally, the pipe they used to connect directly to the stove was an odd length and the pipe utilized between the elbows was an odd length and both of ends of the pipe between the elbows was inside of each elbow...

Long story short, now that I have installed the 48" initial pipe to the stove, can I cut an adapter 12" pipe to be installed between the elbows?...as long as the base of the 12" pipe sits snugly inside of the lower elbow and flush over top of the upper elbow? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
 
Single wall right? If so yes. Cut it a skosh long. It's easy to cut again if need be.
 
cut what ever length you need just put it in right side up this time. what is your question?
