My pellet guy just informed me that Okies are back although the company is under new ownership.

Has anyone burned the new okies yet? Are they as good as the old ones?

thanks
Brian

Haven't burned them in a few years. They used to have a great reputation. Interested to read what other members say.

If you are talking about the brand name Okanagan - the name/logo was bought by a pellet house here in NH. (broken link removed to http://www.okanaganpellets.com/faqs.aspx)from the new owner of the brand name.

I don't know anyone that has run the new Okies. The Okie Platinums just popped up at my local Aubuchon's a couple of weeks ago - but for $7/bag, I'm probably not that interested in acquiring any.

Agreed. They use to be the best pellet (IMO) on the market, but they have priced themselves right out of my purchase ability. Too bad, I loved not having to clean the stove every week.

I live in Armstrong where they are made and I can assure you nothing has changed in the pellet composition. Be that SPF or Fir.
Only the price. Which is $3.15 Cdn.

I'm happy that I have one ton left from last year. Like you, I liked the clean burn and low ash. Maybe they will come down next year?
