Olympic starter rope

The starter rope on the my Olympic is pulling apart. I searched an Olympic site but they didn't have it.

Is the rope standard enough that I could just take it to another type of dealer and have him replace it? Is it a big project to replace? It's been running great and hate to mess with it.

Also, what should I clean the air filter with?

I don't know what an Olympic is, but if you are talking about a small engine like on a saw, splitter, lawnmower, etc any decent shop that deals will small engines will have bulk starter rope for sale.

I also don't know what an Olympic is... well actually I used to have an '73 ski doo olympic, but I doubt that is what your talking about. Anyway every hardware, home improvement store, and most walmarts will have the size, and proper tinsel strength rope your after.

A 74 Olympic was my first sled actually! My folks still have it in one of their storage buildings.

That's cool. I used to love mine, I would like to find another one for pulling out my Ice fishing gear on the ice.

And ... for most chainsaw air-filters, compressed air or a vacuum cleaner will work for cleaning. So long as you take necessary measures to not destroy it. (Can't see it from here.)
