One thing still bugs me..........

Got the P68 hooked up to the Selkirk venting and ran it for the first time. Throws lots of heat and pellets look like sparkler going off. Blowers are noisy, but bareable. But the pellets dropping into the auger. AAAUUUGGGGHHH Sounds like ball bearings falling in a tumbler. Has anyone figure out a way to stop this annoying sound?

Muuuusic to my ears. I shut my stove down for the season and waiting for my new beast to be delivered soon. 2 days in without running the stove and i already miss it.

I only noticed how loud the Pellets dropping into the Harman is when I went to my parent's house and they had my old Englander running. You can't even tell they're dropping in.

No wonder they talk and have music in the background of the promotional video for the P-series. It's to drowned out the noise of the STINKIN pellets falling. I'll figure something out to quite it down.

I like the sound. It tells me it is firing back up if off and that things are OK. Usually I never hear it. Now that annoying grandfather clock is another thing altogether. The neighbor starting his truck at 5am is worse. The train four blocks down going through town every morning as well I no longer hear as much these days. Now if I can get the dog from whining early in the morning to go out I would be happy. The Harman dropping pellets is heat to my ears.

It is rather annoying at first but as others have said. You will barely notice it soon. Same thing with the fans.. They are deafening for a while if running full tilt but becomes just low background noise. Now that my stove is off for, hopefully the season, it is oddly quite.

You will get used to it. As others have said, I only really notice it when it has taken a rest and then is getting ready to start back up (of course my Harman is in the basement - but I used to notice it all the time when it was first installed). Even the St. Croix has a noisy drop - and it soon became background noise that I have to actively listen for if I wake up in the middle of the night thinking it is a little chilly (which usually means that the cats abandoned me, but the bedroom is still plenty warm).

We have a fan pointing out from our bedroom which sucks in the warm air. Also drowns out the noise....

Cut the power? We had the same feeling with our stove. The fans noise and pellet drop was new to us, we've adapted. We also swapped rooms. The stove is in the NEW dining room and the NEW Living Room is much quieter now.

The central location mandated the stove be installed in the OLD living room. Both rooms were essentially the same size. The side benefit would be the back side of the house is much quieter also, we don't hear the clipity clop of the Amish Buggies going by. There's always an exception, the young man racing down the road at 4AM. He apparently needs get to work on time at a dairy farm, the old time farmer is known to be tough on his hired help. It spooks our Jack Russell Terrorists , we seem to wake up some mornings with both of them going nuts.

If you mean the sound after you get the bill, then I know what your talking about. But even that for me is once a year.

I love the glorious sound of pellets falling into the pot. After a couple times of the auger not feeding for one reason or another (clogged auger now and then and a failing vacuum switch this winter), I really appreciate the clinking music to tell me everything is working fine.
But the pellets do have to compete with a house full of kids, dogs that bark at everything including their shadow, and a yard full of chickens, including Mama Hen who is louder than the rooster. I have to be right next the stove to hear the pellets

Yeah it is loud on the 68. I bet wrapping the feeder body with some insulation might help
