I have an open hearth fireplace, yea yea I know they're not as efficient, most likely a net negative...
When my fire is dying down should I spread the embers out to expose as much air as possible to ember heat, or should I keep them bunched up so they feed off of each other, stay warmer, and stay warm longer?
