This is my 1100 ft^2 house.

I would like to put a register in the ceiling of the living room, near the heat source. Then using insulated duct put 2 registers into either room upstairs. For cold air return the setup will be the same on the other side of the rooms upstairs, dumping air into the playroom.

The cold air side will likely have a duct fan / thermo if needed.

Critique please!

Opinion - Don't remove air from the room with the heat source by mechanical means.

Code - you need to respect certain distances from the stove.

Better plan - just focus on moving the cold air to the room the stove is in. Warm air will move in behind the departing heavier cold air. Look into fire code for what is required for fire stop measures in ducting and registers between floors - can't just cut holes, they allow for faster fire spread in emergency situations.

Use the vent system youve designed to blow the cold air down the warm air would flow in to take its place do you have a open stairwell. or switch it up and put the cold dumpin out by the stove

Does anyone have any links to fusible vents - I can't seem to find any info on them
