Hello,

I have the opportunity to obtain a 2003 Lopi Endeavor for free. From the looks of it, it's only been fired a few times.

I have a 1300 sq ft home I'm looking to heat and I have a few questions:

1) Several people say that I have to install a "certified" wood stove. Would a 2003 Lopi Endeavor be a "certified" wood stove?
2) Are Lopi stoves good quality units?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My father-in-law has a Lopi answer that we installed in his house when he built it 1995 it was also new in 1995 and it still doing fine.

I believe that the 2003 endeavor is certified as my father-in-laws 1995 answer is certified. (it should have a tag on the back with the certifications on it and clearance specs.

I would grab it before they change their minds. Great find and price.

No need to hesitate, Lopi makes great stoves. It's sized right and yes, it's EPA certified. Go for it and thank them profusely with a case of nice wine. (Well at least several bottles assuming they like wine.)

Take it. My house (1300sqft) came with one that was installed in 1999, and it's a pretty darn good stove. So far I've got no complaints. Our oil furnace gave out the first year we lived here, and I learned pretty quick that it was more than capable of keeping us warm in December. I haven't looked back. Make sure the door seals are tight, and peek at the bricks inside, but I'd guess that they're all pretty good, given your description. I built a little blower out of an old bathroom heater fan which is pretty nice when the thing warms up. Since the stove is free, I'd consider buying the optional fan if it doesn't already have one.

No. You should not get it. You should pass the deal on to me. I have one upstairs, but it would be nice to have another in the basement.

Great stove. Efficient, too. Huge wood savings compared to my old smoke dragon. And great clearance numbers. You will need to add a fan if it doesn't come with one. It's designed to use a fan.
