Ordered Biomass 40 today, thank you Boiler Room

Wouldn't / couldn't of done it with out this site. I am pumped although it will probably be a while 'till I am actually heating with the thing. Zenon was pretty adamant that the Biomass was the way to go for an indoor installation because of its integrated draft inducer. I was ready to go for an EKO so I hope this was the right decision. Anyway, thanks to every one who posted along the way, brace yourselves for some fairly uninformed posts on system design.

Congrats! You'll likely love it. My EKO install lasted a solid 4 months. Don't rush to make it this heating season. Take your time and do it right....

I'm not even pretending I'll be heating with it before next fall. 2 month old baby and ongoing house reno's will guarantee that.

Congratulations! I agree, it can take some time to get things connected. If you have a well thought out plan you should only have to do it once though. I have to say I never grow tired of seeing the flame in the lower chamber...

Congrats!! Even though you may not actually be burning until sometime next year you may want to start on your wood piles now as time allows...I wish I had cut and stacked last year!

Part of the reno is a 4' overhang along the north side of the house for storage. Looking forward to filing it up as soon as it exists.

Augie, I was just wondering why you chose the Biomass unit. What other models did you consider?

I went as far as pricing just about everything (froling, tarm, econburn, eko but not a garn because of install location and wood gun because??) I narrowed it down to the EKO on price and prevalence and the econoburn on price and "local" manufacture. Based on reading the forums it seemed like both boilers had their issues for certain users and somehow I got turned off the Econoburn (it is slightly more expensive even with the 1000$ factory rebate they are offering right now.) So with an EKO 40 in mind I called Zenon. I am planning on putting the boiler in the basement and Zenon was very adamant that I buy the draft inducer which a lot of people on the forum don't seem that impressed with. I resisted and he then offered to give it to me for free.. After further back and forth he suggested the Biomass (which has a built in draft inducer) which I hadn't even been aware of until that point. I told him I call him back, did a quick search of the forum and finding no major complaints gave him the go ahead. I am hoping this fairly random process ends well and I'd love to hear from any Biomass users.

True Dat! I think last night was possibly a record for high "low" overnight temp. Started a fire in a.m. just for daily hot water and didn't run the boiler for the rest of the day!...not complaining though!

Here are some pics of the Biomass 40 in a 10x12' building. There was a New Yorker WC130 in here before. It's hooked to 2- 50,000 btu coils on 2- 1 1/2 ton heat pumps and also to a superstore 30 gal indirect water heater. I hope the pics came out ok.

Nice looking unit. How many gallons onboard water?? That's about the same size expansion tank I had originally but found it to be too small for my application. The triangular shield on the front is some sort of air control?

You are sure that the expansion tank are not inverted ?

It holds 40 gallons of water. I had to put the expansion tank on upside down for clearance issues. It won't hurt the operation of it. I have another expansion tank on the oil boiler that it runs through in the basement.

They shouldn't be installed upside down because air can collect in the water side and cause corrosion.
