Hello all I have a little avalon pedelton insert. This was my first year burning and fir the most part I only would burn one load a night. Never really burned all day. Well now that I'm at home I have been burning all day and I noticed a few things. I let the first load burn down and almost all coals gone before I relaod. Once its lit it burns good up until I open the door to shift a log or something like that then I turns into a rapid out gas inferno.what am.i doing wrong

Might be the wood is a bit high on moisture or that draft is weaker during the day due to warmer temps. Opening the door feeds the fire more oxygen.

Once it gets going good don't open the door, just control it with your primary air until it burns down.
