New owner of used Hearthstone Manchester. Anyone know if there is a reasonably priced alternative to the Hearthstone outside air kit part?
Thanks....
I don't know the answer to your exact questions. Congrats on the new stove!

Are you having issues with air getting to your stove?

Thanks. Not yet installed. Had broken leg in shipping I need to get welded back on and finish building the room for it - should be in in two weeks. Have one and having issues?
We're in the process of buying a new Hearthstone Shelburne. If we can get it before the end of the year, we will, otherwise waiting until heating season is over.

Not everyone needs the OAK. If your house isn't too tight you can crack a window until you see how the stove draws. Things like cooking stove fans vented to the outside and bathroom fans can cause negative pressure that can cause down drafting, back drafting and poor operation. Position of the termination of the chimney and length of the pipes/ chimney from the stop to termination can cause issues too. Check the manual. They probably recommend a total length of chimney. Also 90 degree turns in pipe can also contribute to issues. Weather, temperature wind direction and windspeed can also have an effect on drafting.

Are you replacing a stove or is this your first one?

If you are handy with sheetmetal, one could be fabricated out of something like a metal utility box that has a rectangular opening cut into one side and a 3 or 4" hole cut into it for the duct. Add a start collar to connect the metal flex duct.

Good call. Those adapters aren't cheap. $125- 175- different places I looked. Also, didn't seen anything but oem. Making one would be smart, if one has the ability.
