hi, installing PE summit insert with combustion air coming from ash clean out. I used leveling concrete on the fireplace floor so its nice and level. my question is do I have to use the leveling bolts on the insert or can I install without the leveling bolts. I'd rather not use the bolts.

The bolts can be removed. Does the ashpit have an outside cleanout door that air can enter through? That should be screened to prevent rodent intrusion.
