We're getting a new wood stove and it will be installed in my fireplace. The bricks on the floor of the fireplace are painted with a regular latex paint. The bricks going up the wall are still natural. Is there any issue putting the stove on top of these painted bricks?

I doubt it will be any hazard but brick needs to breathe. Don't be surprised if the paint bubbles from the brick breathing. Usually not a big issue with concrete or cinder but clay brick is a pain if painted.
