So I decided to freshen the old girl up. I used stove bright Almond color and VHT high heat gold on the door. Thought Id share the beauty with you.Link Removed

Ohh, I like that color! Hmm, now I'm thinking I could do the door to the baby Harman like that. Unfortunately I can't take it outside to burn off the odors, so I probably won't paint it - but I love the idea.

I'll definitely keep an seasonal update for everyone. I did a 6 hour burn test/break in outside yesterday set on stove temp high running it at a 4 feed rate and 4 stove temp and the paint didn't discolor or anything. But only time will tell if I'll need to keep up with it!

And this would have been the week to do it since I rode the bike all week and the temps were hot so it would have outgassed nicely in the car. Not looking so good for next week. Hmm, I wonder if the temp cycle oven at work is free for a couple hours - LOL.

It will work in your oven at home as long as the door fits. I cured the flame trap for the Elena that way.... smells a bit but not horrible.

Other things do get cooked in the stove (edit: oven) but thought it best to follow directions for best results ( I know, rare breed).

Yeah, I can get it up to 400 degrees in the oven (I believe that is the temp I read). I'm guessing it ain't happening in the car - at least not here in upper New England

Throw some evil eye on it and I'll bet you can hit 425* easily with junk hardwood pellets. There is probably a a meat thermometer around that powder coated stove somewhere. (Same one ya'll cook paint on in??? Check the drawers and next to the spoons. Just another guess.

These two are having an open invite for anyone hungry on Turkey Day. Could be a bit under cooked or taste like paint but they will cook. BYOB and don't wind up in the OVEN.

Since the oven is now used to one up the dudes (WARNING: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME). I suggest scan the place for brooms.......... When you see sparks a fly'in you are already cooked. Too late. TURKEY!

Hate to say it but I am looking forward to this heating season. Best of luck and keep tossing pellets, Fools. Go buy oil, propain, etc; Just stay warm and keep spending to do so.

Heat and warmth is never "free" or cheap. Beating them is. Bust wood or hump pellets. Do that with pride. How fat is the dude in the oil truck?

not a pellet stove i have a harman elite coal insert i repainted the stove but the fancy trim needs redoing is rustoleum ages copper safe its flashpoint is 200 degrees, just asking. harman dealer said today he may have a few pieces in stock about 300.00 . harman stopped this style trim because of discoloration which is what my problem is

Flashpoint is a little different than temperature that can be withstood once paint has been cured. Supposed to withstand temps of "1200 degrees (648C)"

Since I don't use the oven for anything else, that is another solution to think about.

I have a oven in my garage that i only use for powder coating and curing high temp paint on items that will fit inside.

Painted my P61 yesterday. Satin Black Stove Bright. Looks so much better than it did. We bought our house and she was sitting in the humid basement. The cast iron has some surface rust and the paint on the steel was peeling. Pretty happy with how it came out.
