Hey everyone. Wanted to do a review of my Alderlea T6. Fired it up full time mid October and it’s only went cold a few times. Saved me thousands from switching from oil on my 3500 sq ft house. I have a 16’ straight stove pipe, no flue damper, only indoor air.

My house is a bit odd: long and relatively narrow, with the stove in the middle in an open area kitchen, dining, living room area. I grew up with wood stoves and finally pulled the trigger on this in Sept. Been our best climate indoors since we moved to CT 8 yrs ago.

The T6 has a big firebox, but you can load it small and let it simmer on cool fall/spring day nights. I have some smaller split oak that works great when you don’t want to get the house too hot on mild days. Couple pieces in the morning, few afternoon, couple at dinner then load it up for overnight. I don’t use the built in clean out; I just use a square shovel and take ashes out about every 4 days.

On cold winter days, the stove excels. I have half splits I used most of the winter. I pack it full when I go to bed, around 9:30-20 latest, and leave damper open for 15 min. Flames get roaring then I shut it down. I can come down at 7am and there’s plenty of coals to rake and get going.

I’d absolutely recommend this stove for someone looking for a beautiful non cat stove that performs great at pumping out lots of heat but is still controllable when needed. It is the central hub of our families activities all winter!
