Of the firebox or the insert? For the firebox you can get usually some rough numbers from looking at the brick scheme in the manual.

I'd measure our T6 but it has a fire in its belly right now. IIRC the firebox's usable area is about 20" wide, 18" deep and about 13" high. This is not measured right to the glass which is about 20.5" deep. If you ping me with a conversation I can measure more accurately later this afternoon when it cools down.

Firebox inner:
20" deep from knife edge to firebrick in back.
19-3/4" wide from inside surface of side wall firebrick to inside surface of opposite wall firebrick.
13" tall from top of floor firebrick to bottom of baffle.

Thanks Hog, to clarify, what is the "knife edge"?

Based on the brochures I've been drooling over, knife edge = door seal

Knife edge is the front edge of the door opening.
2.9+/- cf approx. so it seems close to actual 3cf usable firebox.

Thank you Sir, that's what I needed. Thanks to all who replied.

I appreciate the measurements. Cut everything 16", split & stacked 4 cords of new wood ( ash & walnut) + 2 cords of ash cut a year ago. Insert won't be installed until August. Just trying to get ahead. Thanks all.

Sounds like you are doing fine. In a pinch I have put some 22" splits in this firebox, by placing them diagonally. Not ideal, but better than recutting them.

Congratulations on the new insert. Take some pictures.

16" to 18" is idea as far as keeping the glass from fogging up from offgassing out the ends of the splits when loading north to south.
You can load it onto the front lip, but the glass will get more quickly and easily fogged/hazed.

Here is a pic of the present 80ish unit. Unused for years. My wife has a thing for stacking stuff. [Hearth.com] PE Summit insert

Yes it is an open fireplace. What I referred to as an insert is not. It is doors that has a air channel at the base that is fan driven to circulate some heat to the room. Primitive stuff.
