I'm a relatively new woodburning stove owner, had it about 6 months but using it more and more now the cold weather is here in UK.

I have a burley Hollywell and just noticed what looks like blistering or peeling Paint on the metal bits below the fire bricks. Is this normal and anything to worry about?

I can't seem to find am answer to this.

All paint will burn off or peel inside a firebox. Over 1,200 degrees in there and there isn't a paint around that can take that. No problem.

BTW: That is a nice stove. Tough too.

Could it be creosote?

Maybe tank exhaust left over from testing?
