New to the forum; I'm interested in getting a wood pellet boiler + hopper for my home and use my existing oil boiler as back-up. I am concerned about wood-burning odor ...not the aesthetics of the smell, but I figure if I can smell it, then toxic chemicals are backdrafting into the house. I'd appreciate anybody sharing their experience with their boiler. Thanks!

Products of combustion are supposed to smell if your smoke pipe hook up is failing. Thats why you place a CO detector and a smoke alarm OUTSIDE your bedroom door.

If they go off there is drama - created by faulty installation or lack of care.

Outside - smell is minimal to none - depends on where and how you vent.
