Pellet preference is like motor oil.....

I know everyone seems to have a favorite pellet but I am curious who else is burning these and how has their luck been? I have been using these for a couple years and have always been satisfied, great heat and only really clean the stove every ton or so. Of course daily burn pot scraping. I have heard of different colored letters with the lignetics but I have only ever saw green lettering.
any info in the different colors would be good to know

Burned 3 1/2 ton last year with no issues..would have bought them this year but the Hamer Hot ones are better imo.

Got a ton of them plus Lacretes and 2 tons Energex Golden pellets..

There are many good brands of pellets just like many good oils. But also keep in mind some oils are definitely better than lower grade oils. Same holds true with pellets.

I have no brand loyalty. All the pellets available around here are the same, douglas fir. $198/ton.

My fantasy preference is Vermont Wood Pellets. I got 4 or 6 bags of those last winter and really, really liked them for heat output and very little ash. However, I didn't like the price and nobody that is close to me or where I work, carries them. I will not go 30 miles out of my way to pick up 15-20 bags at a time at something like $7.50 a bag.

So, in actuality I prefer FSU's because they are reasonable priced, available at any HD in the areas I travel (or were last year anyway), and burn reasonably well.

Lignetics were awful in my Englander 25-PAH. They were the first pellets I burned and I thought there was something wrong with my stove. Both Energex and Cleanfire Hardwood have burned better for me. No experience with other pellets yet

The green label lignetics are a descent pellet. I'm burning barefoot instead for the extra 20/ton, it's worth the cleaner barefoot.
