36"? WOW!

Mine called for 6" on corners if angled into a corner .... but less on sides if parallel, but rear clearances increase then. Pellet stoves with heat exchangers on the sides don't get so hot on the exterior of the sides, not like in back and overhead.

PAPERS (6) install dim.JPG

I have no idea how it works in the States but in Canada, after you have something installed
and you have accepted the installation (inspected) Any liability falls on you and your insurer.
For instance how long would the installer be expected to be liable? A month, a year, 10 years
only liability would be if the installation was done totally wrong or not in a workman-like manner.
If it were done totally wrong then it would not pass the inspection
The insurance comp seems to not ask for an inspection.

ins. co. inspectors that they send out do not have a clue as to stove specs. ( the ones I've met) Local Fire Marshall a better bet.
Seen some pretty poor "pro" installs as well .
