Pellet stove fire brick set question?

Hi,

I have a Breckwell P4000, it's 9 years old. My fire brick set finally just disintegrated. Do I really need this in the stove? I'm debating spending $100.00 for something that is just for looks. if it will pose a safety hazzard not having them, then I will buy a set. Appreciate and advice. Thanks

The firebricks are in there for a reason: SAFETY. Replace them.
