I have an installation scenario where I can go vertically 9 ft at which point I need to run horizontally 17 ft where I would terminate on a gable end. This horizontal run can rise at1 inch per ft. The elevation is 800 ft above sea level. Will this work safely with a 4 inch pipe?

Refer to your manual but my manual shows it pretty close to needing 4in. Def a less than optimal setup.

I really doubt that will work and if you try it you will contantly be taking that pipe apart to clean it why not just go out the roof?

That 17 foot run is going to cause you loads of problems with ash buildup, and very fast too.

As already suggested, youd be better off going straight up through the roof.
