Question:

I am deciding to purchase a pellet or a gas stove to replace my free standing wood stove. I have been told that gas stoves are cheaper to operate in the long run. I have seen both in operation and I think a pellet stove puts out more heat. Help me decide which way to go.



Answer:

Neither put out more heat...most are in the same range....that is from as low as 10,000 BTU to as high as 30,000 BTU output. Natural Gas is quite a bit cheaper than Pellets in most cases. LP may be a different story. Check out the comparison of fuel prices at:
