Called Agway in Bethel, CT this morning. They were receiving a shipment of Energex pellets. Bought 10 bags @ $7.99 per bag. Have never used them. Thought I'd give them a try. I'm a Hamer's zealot but the Danbury Agway is out. They did not mention any limits and there were no lines.

$7.99 a bag!!, boy did you get bent over hard!!!

Yes, yes and yes, plus I tipped the kid five bucks to load them. That's why I only bought ten bags. I've never burned Energex so wanted to give them a try. They seem to burn a little cooler than Hamer's by about ten degrees.

You mentioned burning Hamer's, do you get the ones from Hamer's, or the Agway branded ones? If Agway, do they burn the same as the Hamer's bags?

Thanks, Dave

Dave, I've gotten them from both. My primary supplier is quite a ways away. I buy my stash from him in the Summer. My Agway is literally just down the hill. Their price per ton is the same as the dealer but the delivery charge is higher. I have not experienced any differences between the dealer pellets and those from Agway but I've only purchased 10 - 20 bags from Agway and about 12 tons from the dealer.
