Pelpro Convection Blower starts very slow!! New Fasco equivilant from CSH wholesale blowers works gr

Hello

I have a Pelpro 265 CFM convection Blower that starts very slow, sometimes it needs a push. I cleaned the blades and pot graphite on the shaft. The motor get warm when running too. I do not see any lubrication holes. Any suggestions?
Is there a 3rd party aftermarket one cheap?
Maybe this one? It is a split capacitor. (Not good for variable speed)

Careful the grainer motor is a Permanent Split Capacitor and don't like being variable controlled. You need a Shaded pole motor.

I can't read the label but thinking its a bushing motor not bearings. AO Smith motors you can change the bushings on. But if you take the motor apart like in this thread you might be able to get it going again!

Sounds like a bearing replacement candidate.

I saw an add for a 265 CFM unit recently but can't remember where.

Is that a shaded pole motor if so I don't think you want to use that Dayton unit.

The motor runs fine no noise or squeak but plenty of resistance, sounds like the bushing is shot right?

Please tell me. Where can I get a bushing for that? thanks

Someone else said if I can get spray oil with a straw that has teflon in the oil it may work. Where can I get that oil?

It does say Dayton 4C447 equivalent so it must be a shaded pole motor. It sure is confusing but you are quite correct

I bought its cousin a 230 CFM through a surplus place paid $50.00 and did a mark, punch, and drill job to fit it to the snorkel in my stove.

(Funny they do have the A.O. Smith exact replacement but only in the 230v Model!)
But they do indeed say that the FASCO B45227 IS the Exact FASCO replacement for the A.O. Smith 115v 265 CFM blower)

Hello Again

Good news, it seems that the sliding bushing was not turning well on the shaft of the original A.O. Smith convection blower in the stove because the shaft had oxidized when stored in the damp basement. I lubricated the shaft but it even got more resistive. Today when I tried the blower it worked fine!! The lube must have sunk in and freed the shaft!!

So today I picked up some Liguid wrench with Cerflon a special formula for this type of lubrication and sprayed the shaft again!!

Hello

Well now that I got the stove running for a while the Convection Blower decided to quit.

So I did go the route of the $92.50 Fasco Equivilant from CSH since the OEM Replacement for A.O. Smith Company Blower could only be purchased as an OEM part for $199.00 !!

So I got the blower from USPS at 6:45 PM tonight so it still made the 3 day priority mail date! I orderd it around noon time on the 19th!! Not bad.

Anyways, the difference being that the very short wires on the new FASCO blower were not long enough and did not have the quick disconnects on the ends.

Therefore I just cut the wires with the clips off the old blower and soldered and taped them on to the new one! Also had to install a 3/8" Romex connector into the knock out to make it right!

Then even though the mounting holes were very close, I had to ream them a tad to make all the holes fit over the threads coming out of the stove.

So it was well worth saving over $100 dollars and I trust FASCO they do have good blowers! Turned the stove on and the blower worked great. Nice and quiet but alot of air movement with the 265 CFM of course
