I’ve been reading all I can, mostly on this forum however thought I would post because it seems to me there is a lot of knowledge around here. I have a Pelpro60 and a spot where a wood stove used to be according to home’s former owners. Chimney runs approximately another 10 feet from hole in picture. Hole is approx. 8 inches in diameter. Flue is 6”x8”. What is the best way to hook this stove up?

Should I have a 90 right at the back of the stove so I can go straight up from there to the hole?
Do I really need a liner? Seems to be a lot of draw when I remove the plug from the hole in the wall.
Can I use the 3” to 8” chimney adapter?

Thanks in advance.

The hole(pic #3) is that the chimney? The black pipe is that single wall stove pipe? The requirements are in your manual follow the and you won’t have any problems with code inspection or your insurance co.

Most people put a cleanout T at the bottom.A cleanout T where it goes into the chimney, can save you cleaning time, also.Do not put it close to the walls, space it out a bit, even 12" if that is what you have to buy,as you will be working on it.

The hole is the chimney. It’s through the wall and exits into the chimney cavity. The hole has an 8 inch metal ring through it with mortar.

I couldn’t find black pipe in enough pieces with out having to order it and didn’t want to have to return any pieces I didn’t use. I went with the galvanized duravent 3”. Plan on using an 8” to 6” reducer and then the duravent 3” to 6” adapter. Does this sound like it will work?
Is anybody familiar with the duravent? It twists and locks, does it still need high temp sealant?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

sounds like you got a plan. Duravent is good i have it on my stove. i use high temp silicone tape on all the joints even the double wall
