Permit needed for replacing a pellet stove

I live in MA, town of Malden
I'm shopping for a new pellet stove to replace my current one
When I installed it 20 years ago I got a permit and had inspection etc all done
If I purchase a new pellet stove to replace my current one (I am planning on connecting it to my existing vent pipes) do I need to apply for a permit and have another inspection?

If the stoves were identical, and you regularly deep clean and inspect the vent pipe ect, then I myself would not. However, if the stove is different it will have a different nameplate, so the install would need to be re-inspected. What you could do, and what you need to do depends on you, but make sure your insurance is going to be good.

Like said above check with your local laws. Call the inspector and ask them as at bare min your probably going to need another inspection to satisfy your insurance company
