My husband and I found a great deal on a Pioneer Maid top loader and got it! Due to it being a top loader it doesn’t have a window for the fire, but I’ve always wanted one where I could see the fire. I found a glass firebox door on stove-parts.net, and I’m wondering if my husband could cut a hole in the front and install this glass or if that would completely ruin the stove? Has anyone done this before?

Thanks for reading!

The "glass" would have to be ceramic glass, the door would need a good gasketed seal against the stove body, and the glass would likely very quickly go black due to the lack of airwash over it. There are some top-loading stoves that have glass doors. That might be an easier solution.
