Here’s a hint that works. If you have a stove that has a pitted top. Either sandblast or wire brush the stove top clean. Using stove bright paint spray some on cardboard. Spray a good bit and keep it from running off with a putty knife. When the paint starts to gel use the putty knife and get some of the gelled paint put it over the pits like finishing Sheetrock. Wait a couple hours and sand. I’ve used a body sander but a palm sander works. Paint the stove. Paint a second coat on the top. It will finish smooth. Good luck.
