Newbie to anything like this. Picked up a rusted old pot belly stove. Removed the rust, and need to have a part or two welded. I plan on using the stove outdoors to sit around in the winter. This thing is about 5 feet tall. When I reassemble the parts with new nuts and bolts. Should I seal the belly top and bottom together? I was reading that furnace cement does not expand and contract. It has to the mixed type, which is not for metal to metal contact. Is there a product anyone can suggest or is it unnecessary?
Thank you for any advice
