I know this was mentioned before but these things seem to produce a lot of ash. They burn good but I had a lot more ash and klinkers. I used the regular Lignetics last year and I didn't have near as much ash. It was nice to get a warm day to shut my Harman down and give it a good cleaning...51 degrees here.

When I got home from wrk I shut mine down today.saves on pellets and I get to give the glass a good cleaning on my harman lol it was at 45 deg today witch is usually warm.

I have nothing but GOOD to say about the ton of Prestos I got at HD for $209. They burn HOT and very little Ash I also got a ton of Hamers at Lowe's for $179 with my buddies employee discount, which were very hot, but the ASH was brutal!! Thanks to a member on this site I was able to adjust my low burn air LBA and the ash is now under control. Sometimes we just need to tinker a little with the settings. Good luck!!

Honestly I think out of all of the big box store pellets offered prestos are probably one of the hottest I've burned. I didn't really notice a huge ash problem or clinkers, the ash produced seemed normal to me.

The Pres-To-Logs were "on sale" up here in Northern Maine at the local Kmart for $214 per ton. I purchased a ton of them since the price was great compared to what I'm paying for a ton of pellets across the river in Canada.

For a mass-supply pellet, it does a great job at keeping the stove output temps in the hot zone. The ash is actually quite reasonable as well. Much less ash than other brands I've run trials on this Fall/Winter such as Ambiance, New England, Granulco, and Comfy Cozy. Perhaps there is less hardwood in the Pres-To-Log pellet which keeps the ash content low??
One drawback with the ton that I purchased, though, and as another board member had stated a couple of weeks ago, they sure are dusty as all heck when you pour 'em out of the bag. A veritable cloud of brown powder. Thank God that I get the chance to transfer them first into 5-gallon buckets in the driveway before introducing them into the home.

Tried a few bag's, burn nice, pellet's are real dark in color, glasto hd has lig's, they seem to be the exact same as the presto's as we all know there made by lig

I found some a HD a couple of weeks ago. For a big box pellet I have been VERY impressed with the heat output of Presto Logs. I haven't noticed very much dust - perhaps because it doesn't show up as much as light colored dust on the backdrop of my black stove.

My experience exactly. And unlike another member's experience, they were the least dusty pellet I've burned this year. Only complaint was that bags seemed thinner and tore a bit easier than other brands. At a decent price, they could become my normal pellet instead of Hamer's.

Sadly, i bought 3 tons of these. 2 tons were very dusty and one was acceptable. Heat is good, but ash is out of control on all 3 tons. Experiences seem to be very inconsistent...

If I remember correctly, 1 of the bags - either Prestos or Ligs, had 3 different addresses on it. Maybe that is reason for the inconsistancies

I've gotten the ones with the lighter orange bag and the pellets were much lighter in color. Lot of ash, heat OK. Got some with a much darker orange label and the pellets were VERY dark. Liked those much better. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me but there seem to be different batches with a big difference in quality. Pretty common for box store stuff.

They're always dark but the last batch I got were CRAZY DARK and they burned very well. The only kind of dark ones burned fine too. Just noticed a difference in packaging and product on the last batch. I'm a pellet tramp and I'll use whatever this year though so it has no bearing on what I buy since HD and Lowes are playing musical pellets with different brands every two days. I'm not being picky this year. PTLs kept the house warm on those -15 nights. Granted it took an entire bag in 8 hours but what do you expect.

I got 1/2 ton of these from HD in Matamoras Pa.
I think they burn great
