Princess bypass door gasket

I read some other posts about finding the high density gasket for the bypass door. I called my dealer and they were completely clueless,they didn't know what a bypass door was and tried to sell me a gasket for the combustor.I called Blaze King and talked with Jennifer and she said I could order one through A-1 stoves in California.I called A-1 and ordered the gasket which would be shipped from Blaze King to me. I just received the gasket 21 days later and it looks just like any other gasket you could buy at any hardware store. It's not a tight weave like a high density gasket and I can squeeze it flat with no problem.Has anyone replaced one and knows what they look like,I hate to use it if it's the wrong gasket.See pics.

That looks like the same spare bypass gasket as I got with my Sirocco. It also looks like the same bypass gasket installed on my Sirocco that I saw last night when I adjusted the bypass plate.

For my sister's King, I ended up using 7/8" Rutland gasket on the bypass. What you have doesn't look much different. It certainly isn't the same as my stove, but my stove is almost nine years old.

I read on here where Chris said their high density gaskets come from Mid Mountain.I was just on their site and all their gaskets are white in color and a different weave.My stove is a 2010 model and has a white gasket.I don't want to remove it if I have the wrong one to replace it.

Hello out there! Any help would be appreciated.I find it hard to believe that nobody has actually replaced a bypass door gasket on a princess and knows what they are supposed to look like.

The bypass gasket on my stove is white and very dense. Just like the door gasket, only smaller.

What you have looks like standard, off the roll Rutland. I used it, and it's worked for a couple of years, but I should replace it for her. It's supposed to be 5/8" high density, but I used 7/8" cheapo, maybe even 1".

That's my thoughts exactly Jeff,I've used a lot of gaskets over the years and this looks like regular low density gasket.I wish Chris BKVP would chime in on this,he would be the one that would know.I don't want to use the wrong gasket.I know they are really busy this time of year at Blaze King and I think someone just grabbed the wrong gasket.

My stove was made in August and it has the same looking gasket as in the picture. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jeff but I give up.I called mid-mountain today and was told the 5/8in. gasket they supply to Blaze King is a black gasket.So somewhere along the line BK switched suppliers because they used to be white in color. The gasket I ordered can be purchased at any hardware store for a lot less. I waited 21 days plus $17.00 shipping thinking I was getting a high density gasket.The blueguy posted that he got a spare gasket with his sirocco that looks like mine,is this because they don't last as long?

I am also currently trying to get spare gaskets from BK as well as a door latch pin and cat thermo. Any suggestions?
I put in the order with my dealer before labour day! Still no parts! Apparently BK is dragging their heals this fall?

Here's some pictures of a high density gasket compared to the gasket Blaze King sent me.The high density gasket has several layers woven inside the gasket the other has none.The high density gasket is real firm and hard to compress unlike a low density gasket.This gasket goes to the bypass door on the princess.I'm not here to bash Blaze King,I think they have a great stove,I heat 2500sq ft from the basement and the burn times are excellent,I just burnt my first half cord of wood in the first 37 days of the burning season.I think somewhere along the line something got switched around with the gaskets at Blaze King and nobody caught it.

I just rechecked the spare bypass gasket I ordered with my stove, and it looks like the one on the left, and is pretty dense and hard to bend. I adjusted my bypass last week, and it looked like my bypass gasket was pretty flat, and may have been a normal run of the mill gasket too. The temp is supposed to be ~50* tomorrow, so I am going to let the stove go out and have another look at it tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you know what I find....
