I have a 3/4 line that runs about 50' with a stub out for a BBQ at the 30' mark and a large 300BTU firepit at 50' mark. I plan to have a 100lb tank and was wondering if I should just plumb this to the line directly with a shutoff but no regulator considering the distance of the line. Each of the appliances obviously have different outputs. Do I need a regulator at the propane tank or can I just add regulators on the line from the stub out to the appliance? Or should I add like a dual chamber regulator at the tank and regulators at the appliances? Any help is appreciated.

I just did this, you want the high pressure line to go as far as it can then you need a low pressure regulator to the firepit and bbq. You do not want high pressure going to the appliance. With that said hire a plumber or the gas company to do it.

Can you do a 2 stage setup with a 10psi regulator at the tank and then step down to 11"wc or whatever at each appliance? Would still deliver plenty of volume and be a little safer than having 100+ psi in your pipeline.

What kind of gas line? CSST trac pipe? you'll need a high pressure regulator at tank, and step down to 11" WC LP regulator at the appliances. 300K BTUs firepit and a probable 50K BBQ is a lot of propane load, so the proper volume of BTUs at the right pressure for the appliances have to be accounted for. Best to let your propane deliverer get their service tech out to see what is really needed. Good luck.
