Hello everyone. I have my pellet stove vent coming straight out of the wall in my house. It's a little over 21 inches from the tip of the jet cap to the thimble. Last year I had a big chuck of ice come down and bend the vent pipe. My fault for not cleaning the roof sooner. Does anyone see a concern if I was to build a gabled awning out over the pipe? It would be at least 4 feet above the pipe itself. At 350 for a new pipe and cap I would like to prevent this from ever happening again. Thanks,

Your pellet stove owners/installation manual will show you the approved venting scenarios. Use that as your guide. All units are different

My vent pipe exhausts under the deck with about 4 feet of overhead clearance. It passed building inspection.

Could you post a picture of your set up?
I am having trouble seeing ice/snow bending the pipe under a deck

We don't get heavy snow and ice here in Oregon. But if we did it would be on top of the deck above.
