For those in the Pacific northwest (PNW) I've been burning Packsaddle pellets (Mill City, Oregon) for about 10 years. My local supplier started selling the Purcell (http://purcellpellets.com/) pellets at $230/ton so I bought a couple of bags ($5.50/bag) to try out. It produced so much ash that I had to scrape the pot about twice a day or the stove would stop venting properly and the smoke would start backing up in the stove. I've never had that happen with any other pellet. I'm gonna stick with the Packsaddle which has much less ash.
