junk! cools the flue temp and creates lots of creosote. avoid them like the plague. IMO

They are an invitation to trouble. The stove is the heater. Invest in an efficient model and don't depend on the pipe for scavenging heat. Your chimney will stay a lot cleaner, especially when burning well seasoned wood.
 
Heat your home with the stove . . . not the stove pipe.
 
Set a fan up so it blows across the top of your stove in the direction you want the heat to travel to. Thats a much better option.
