Question to any Quad 1200 FS owners out there-
Every 10 or 15 min or so the motor which feeds the pellets sounds like a can opener. Then hours will pass without any noise at all. The sound I can live with but more concerned that the motor is going.
I popped off the cover plate off the motor so I could see what was going on. When it happens, the motor spins backward for about a quarter to half turn, then runs normal with no noise at all. 15min later the same noise and backward turn. Does that sound familiar to anyone else? I completely cleaning the stove this weekend, vacuumed all the fines. Fired up the stove...same noise.
Any ideas?

If it were me, my next step would be to pull the auger assembly (which I've done on my stoves) and see if there is a build up on the auger tube that is restricting movement. If there's too much drag on the auger, it will reverse. Before you pull it, people caution to get a spare gasket. I got one but it came off without a problem so I have a spare gasket.
