My quad, has been kind of a bear to operate.
At times, I can't get enough draft. I have a fully lined SS chimney at about 25 feet. When I open the door even at full tilt hot temps it spits smoke in the room.
Last night, I loaded it up with maple and turned the air all the way down and went in the other room with the blower on low. I came back in to find the secondaries firing and the thermo reading at about 700*.
Generally when my secondaries take off the temp spikes up to around 700 or higher unless I have the blower on high. Do you think this is a safe temp? My "start up air" control does nothing. No change in the fire. I worry that maybe it's stuck open?
