Quad Santa Fe wireless tstat

Just bought a new Quad Santa Fe for my sunroom. I already have a Castille in my family room down stairs. My question is this, I would like to use a wireless thermostat if possible. Has anyone used one on a santa fe? If so, what brand? Where i am going to put the tstat, it's going to be difficult to route the wiring..thanks in advance.

Go onto Quads website and look under accessories. The have a number of them listed and I know you can get them with remotes so you don't need to run any wires. I believe the company that makes them is Skytech and some are sold on E-Bay. Do a search on this site and there is info on thermostats. I have a remote on my MT Vernon. I just got the stove and have not tried it yet so I will withhold comment until I do.

Gary, quite a few members have used wireless t-stats w/ no problems. Forum member Xena has used one for quite a while, and reports no issues. See this thread:

I am looking to hookup Skytech 3301p to Santa Fe insert. Installer wouldn't do it because he didn't know how to attach the connectors on the receiver, to the connectors on the stove. Could someone please tell me the best way to do this? Thanks.

I have a wireless from Quad, works great and no ugly wires and less of a hassel for me, I just got done re wireing my house and never want to do that again.

Works good, the only thing I found out is you have to be with in a 20 feet distance from the stove. or it beeps and does not work. Not a real issue though.

I think It cost me 85 bucks at the dealer.

I also have the Quad wireless stat and it works great for me. We are on our second year with no problems. I think my stat is abut 20 feet from the stove. I had no way to run the wire for a regular one unless I cut a grove in the drywall and ran the wire then filled and repainted.

Sorry to say that if that installer can't figure out that he needs to hook the two wires from the Skytech control box to the center two connectors on the Sante Fe, then you sure don't want him touching your stove I have one on my Castile and a Home Depot $29 programmable wired unit on my Sante Fe. Both work great. Quad really throws you a curve when they say in your users manual that you need a 12 volt thermostat when their service manual says 24 V.

sounds like you put the receiver box inside the cast iron side plate, which really cuts down on the distance. I moved mine outside along side of the stove.

It is recommended that the transmitters always be located witin 20 foot operating range of fireplace, the transmitter features several safety features that alert the user when the transmitter is placed outside the 20 foot normal operating range
