Quadra fire series pellet stove

I also have a qf stove I picked up. Im very new to the stove scene. When plugged in the element in the bottom in the ash tray area heats up and glows red. Other than that it don't make any noise or try to spark or anything.
Is this what it's suppose to do? Shouldn't the igniter light up and try to spark?

They just glow red, the heat starts the burn not a spark

I assume you plugged it in and turned it on and then the element turned red.
If you plugged it in and did not turn it on and the element turned red you might have a problem

Hello

The convection blower turns on when the temperature snap disc senses that the exhaust is higher than approx 120 Degrees F - Usually approx 15 minutes after you turn the stove on.
Please put the make and model of your pellet stove in your signature so it is easier to help you.

I also just picked up a Quadrafire Classic Bay pellet stove. It puts out 47k BTUs
Here is a pic of mine, I popped in a new exhaust blower and plan to paint it up. Are you doing anything to yours?

Lighting is crap in the garage but it is all apart still putting it back together. But at least I know now that the blower will turn on after the temp is seen that it needs. So now I can move into painting mine also and get it ready to install.
The model is Santa Fe serial is 0071634782
I picked it up for $200 which I didnt think was a bad deal.

200 bucks for a used Santa fe is great. Better take her down and give her a good cleaning. Put in good pellets and you got a great little heater, it should handle upwards to about 1200 sq ft (34K btus). We sell a lot of them, new they go for around 2300....

Yea I thought it was a good deal. I took it all a part and cleaned it will be painting it and I hope to use it.
I have a slight dilema though. I have that sante Fe and a us stove pellet burner. Not sure which I want to use in the house and which to use in the garage. Picked them both up just about a month ago. The us stove is newer and 5 years younger. Covers up to 2000 sq ft....
Both stoves seem to be in good working order.

What model US stove? Some folks love them, some hate them.

How big is the house? As to one in the garage, check building codes to see if you can as there are restrictions....

The US stove 6041 is a larger multi fuel stove so you may want to use that in the house.
I have my Quad Contour (The older Santa Fe) in my shed with the Lowe's Iris T-Stat so I can turn it in with my iPhone 6+
On your Santa FE, Check the side door welds, I had to add an addition weld in the middle for strength of the support cross piece so the end weld would not fail and the door would pop open. I also replaced the burn pot gasket and bolts with stainless steel bolts.
Sand all the rust. I used Flame Proof 2,000 Deg F VHT Flat Black ultra high temp header paint from the auto parts store for the fire box and Satin Black Stove Bright Paint for the outside. I also used VHT Flat aluminum for the grill with 3 coats of Glossy Clear high heat engine paint.

Thanks for the input. Your stove looks great. Will be looking into that programmable t stat for sure. Mine has a remote style t stat that I can adjust temp on. But it seems to be old and not sure if it works yet.

Not sure if anything applicable on second or third link but they are corrections and amendments!

PS ... check with local fire dept as they will likely be the ones required to inspect. Good idea to talk with them first and install properly so your home owner's doesn't cause you problems.
