Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, but I've found a lot of people on this site seem to have a wealth of knowledge as I did research on a new heat source for my home.
A few weeks ago I bought an Enviro Omega brand new (2008 model was lost in storage at local dealer) for 1000$ off. The thing throws off more then enough heat, to warm up my 80 year old uninsulated home(props).
However the auger motor in it whenever it turns on seems to be out of proportion with the noise it makes. I would say it's as loud or louder then the blower on the highest setting. It's just a mechanical sound might be described as a chugging, winding, or grinding noise.
I don't really have a lot to go by for comparison besides my mothers harman insert, which really doesn't make any auger noise at all, just the noise of the pellets falling. My suspicion is that although it's never been used, because of the age of the machine, any lubrication in the motor might be wearing thin. Or, maybe it's just me and I just think it is over loud(borderline annoying to overly annoying). I was living with it, until I realized I had to turn the tv to max volume to hear what was being said.
Any insight would be appreciated especially from someone who owns an Omega, or Maxx-M who could tell me if its normal or not. The motor in it is 3rpm. Thanks
