Read lot of posts about exstending the Harman room temp probe to other parts of the house or room when the temp set is not accurate.
wouldn't it be easier to just change the temp setting/?
say your room you want only get's to 66 degrees and you have the room temp set at 70.
wouldn't just raising that set temp 4 more degrees to 74 and leave it there do the same job as adding a longer thermo wire or am I missing something here..?

extended mine into a different room. Our house is not a very open setup and it was impossible to get a steady temp any where but in the room with the stove with the standard length probe.

does the room your stove is in overheat in order to push heat into further rooms?

it is warmer the closer you are to the stove but allows us to keep a steady temp everywhere in house. With standard length probe in same room we got large dips and spikes in temps in the rest of the house.

makes sense......
my probe is in back of the stove, then 3 ft from the floor....
dips and spikes a lot so I will move it and see what gives..

Mine is in the back also. In the corner and even with the hopper height. It seems to be working well for me.

yeah.. I'm going to move the probe into the next room just to see if my " high flame/low flame/ no flame routine is less or more.
can always put it back to where it was..
