I have a qudrafire 3100 insert with a flex liner that runs up the masonry chimney that is on the side of the house. My first question is am I losing a great deal of heat up the chimney when I burn? By up the chimney I mean hot air from the surface of the stove not exhaust gases in the flex liner. Secondly is there a way that I should insulate between liner and the chimney tiles to keep excess heat from rising up the chimney? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
