Radiant Panel to Replace this Antique?

I hope the picture shows up. I have this HX hanging in the boiler / kennel to heat about 800 sq ft. It works but not very well. It is noisy which the dogs don't like, me either and with water at 175 it blows out 80 degrees. When it is in the negative numbers outside it run nonstop to keep it 60 out there. After seeing some panel heaters I think I would like to try those instead. It is in a block building 800 sq ft with a pretty high heat loss that I calculated to be 90,000. Does that sound right? Anyway what size panel will heat this space or are we talking multiple panels?

It's good to have some air movement in a kennel, and a forced convector is a good way to move heat across the room.

Maybe convert it to a squirrel cage type of blower, like in a furnace, they run much quieter. Maybe a bit of ducting to move the air around better.

Bob is a true professional here for sure.....can it be that with 175 water you only get 80 degree air? What's the drop across the HX? Seems like the air would be warmer to me....

90K is a huge loss for 800 sqft! Can you possibly put radiant on the floor and pour a little "minislab" over the existing floor? The radiant would be great I'd think....keep the heat where you'd want it. Dry the floors nicely after a hosing, etc.

there is hardly any loss of temp before the heat exchanger and after it. Like the water just goes through and nothing gets taken out of it.
I have in floor heat in the building, but I think after many years of messing around with it that there was not enough pipe put in the slab>
My smoke dragon runs non stop when trying to heat the slab.

Which way does the air move through that thing?

That's an awful lot of airspace on the sides between the fan & the HX - I suspect most of the air the fan moves is going/coming through there & not much is going through the HX.

EDIT: Uh, possibly never mind that. I think what I thought was fan blades I was seeing is a diffuser? Maybe the fan motor is getting to be toast - since it seems to be way noisy?

that's the diffuser. Fan spins like crazy just not enough heat going through it. Maybe I should try a different one in that spot?
Anyone know of a good one to buy?

Looks like a lot of cobwebs and dust up there. Has it been cleaned out lately? Maybe the fins are clogged keeping the air from going through the exchanger.

I know spring cleaning is starting tonight. Just don't let my wife see that picture or I will hear about it.
Just ordered a new unit, should have it installed by Saturday, see how it works.
