Rain on wood stacks

Hello all. I normally have everything covered and good for the season but life got in the way this year. I moved my snacks and have a nice stack of ash and maple that have been sitting covered for a few years. But since being moved it hasn't been covered. I was going to last night but got busy. Now today its raining and supposed to keep raining. What should I do

As long as it's covered a few days before you plan to burn it's not an issue. Rain only gets the outside of the wood wet.

Just leave it. Let the dry days (with some wind hopefully) air it out and it will dry. If it was just rained on for a couple days its probably not even all that wet. Keep an eye on the forecast and ideally don't let it get rained on for days at a time and it will be fine. Some here swear by not covering stacks, personally I am of the opposite mentality but if it's already seasoned it's still going to burn.

The way I look at it is it’s taken at least a summer(or more) to evaporate the molecular water inside the cells, a week of rain isn’t going to make much of a difference on the overall moisture content.

What should I do

Have a cold or hot beverage of your choosing!
Even though my wood was tarped across the top, apparently my old tarp has a leak. Checked it out and it has about 10 holes in it. Ordered a new one, but the wood will be fine. I un-tarped mine and it is already drying off.

A little breeze and some sunny skies and it will be all good.

You'll be fine. Top cover it now. It'll be dry in a day or 2.
