Not to be a Negative Ned or Debbie Downer . . . but perhaps someone seeing this and thinking that they can just get by with a slammer type install for a few months without risking harm to them or their family may see this and reconsider . . .

At least two major mistakes made here. 1) Using a woodstove in an unlined chimney that was in pretty tough shape according to the investigators quoted in the newspaper. 2) No smoke detectors in the home.

Two house fires in our local news this morning that were tied to wood burning appliances.

Last night was also the coldest night of the season so far for us. With the cold weather coming this late, people are just firing their systems hard for the first time and finding their weakest link in some cases :(
